This is an excellent book for teachers. While working on my master’s degree, it was very helpful. It is written by two educators who have lots of expertise in this subject. It is organized very logically and each chapter introduces the theoretical concepts that you will learn with useful exercises at the end of each chapter. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to understand the purposes of assessment, and who want to understand the difference between testing, assessment, and evaluation.
This is a textbook on assessment principles and practices for language teachers. The book is clearly written, well-organized, and useful. I ordered a used edition, and the middle rating I have given it is due to the quality of the book: not damaged, but fairly heavily marked up and highlighted. Based on the description when I ordered it, I was expecting a cleaner copy.
Not much to say about it. it provides a basic overview to language assessment. Basic tools, methods, term definitions. A great starting point for anyone new to language assessment or to test writing in general. I feel that a lot of what is in this book can be applied to other subjects as well.
It a must have for teachers. The chapters are very organized and the exercises are clear and very informative.

At times the book seemed to repeat itself. However, it provided some useful materials to use in the classroom. And it was over priced!!
